Way Back When-sday: Victorian Easter Cards

The Victorians knew how to make pretty greeting cards and they took every opportunity to send them to friends and family. I've always been fascinated with the elaborate designs and whimsical themes. How can you not feel all warm and fuzzy when you look at them?

For fun I wanted to share some Easter greetings with you today. I hope they put a smile on your face.

Do you send greeting cards for Easter? What Easter tradition is your favorite?

  2. So adorable! I especially like the chicks in a boat playing the mandolin. That is a mandolin isn't it? Or just a really old guitar??? lol

I am terrible with dates and if it weren't for facebook, I'd never even wish my husband a happy birthday...okay that might be a tad exaggerated but it's mostly true. Like mostly dead in the Princess Bride. ;)

Okay, I've had waaaay too much coffee this morning.

  3. Aw, cute! I don't send Easter greeting cards...I don't even send Christmas cards. Haha! But I love it when people send cards to me. LOL. :)

Do Cadbury mini-eggs count as an Easter tradition? 'Cause I love that. I also love singing the hymn "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" in my home church on Easter. One Easter, that church didn't do that hymn and I was so confused the whole service...waiting for that song... :)

    1. Melissa, you're so good at sending meaningful gifts, though! I've been on the receiving end of quite a few! :) And I had a good laugh about your Easter song. I can totally picture you with a confused face, glancing around the church, wondering "What did they do with my song?!?!?!" :)

  5. These cards are adorable! I rarely send greeting cards at Easter.

My favorite Easter basket item is the chocolate bunny. :)

  6. Bahaha, I'm cracking up at the chicks rowing a boat and playing the mandolin/banjo/whatever instrument that is.

My mom used to be so good about sending cards for all occasions! I must admit, I've never sent an Easter card...I usually don't even send birthday cards (just text, email, Facebook, etc.). But there is something awesome about receiving a card like that. And these are so cute!
